Backend, cloud and DevOps engineer

I build reliable software systems from application code to production infrastructure.

I am a mechatronics engineer focused on backend platforms, cloud infrastructure, automation, and production reliability. I work across the stack when needed, but I am most effective where application architecture meets real operational constraints.

Featured work

Products and platforms I actively build

These projects show how I approach product engineering, distributed workloads, infrastructure, performance, and long-term operations.

Independent platform

360exp

A worldwide event and experience discovery platform designed to help people find things to do nearby and explore what is happening in other places.

My work: I design and build the product, event ingestion systems, backend services, and the infrastructure that keeps the platform deployable and scalable.

Nonprofit technology

La Cumbre Cotidiana

Volunteer full-stack and DevOps work for a nonprofit that promotes sustainable hiking, conservation, and responsible access to natural spaces.

My work: I help operate and improve a site serving 30K+ monthly visits, including its image optimization and delivery pipeline, SEO, caching, deployment reliability, and web best practices.

Experience

Production ownership and practical delivery

  1. Lead Backend Engineer

    Puul

    2025 - Present

Scale and maintain a production platform built with NestJS, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL. Reduced infrastructure and API spend by 66% while supporting 5x user growth, and own critical integrations and production reliability. Use AI-assisted development workflows for faster research and implementation, broader code review, and higher-quality delivery while retaining responsibility for architecture, validation, and production outcomes.

  2. Volunteer Full-stack Developer and DevOps

    La Cumbre Cotidiana A.C.

    2022 - Present

Maintain and modernize the nonprofit platform across application code, infrastructure, image delivery, observability, SEO, and deployment workflows.

  3. Software Engineer

    Weldu

    2024

Developed Flutter features and hardened Linux infrastructure with firewall rules and fail2ban to reduce exposure to untrusted traffic.

  4. AI and Automation Intern

    Grupo Financiero Banorte

    2023

Built computer vision, OCR, and browser automation workflows, and won first place overall at an internal hackathon with an AI/ML web application.

About

Engineering the whole system

I studied mechatronics to understand how electronics, mechanics, controls, automation, and software work together. That same systems mindset now guides my backend and infrastructure work.

I am most interested in practical constraints: reliability, operating cost, performance, safe delivery, and the debugging required when production behaves differently from a diagram. My goal is to leave each system easier to understand and operate.

Education

Mechatronics Engineering, Tecnologico de Monterrey

Foundation in industrial automation, PLC and HMI systems, robotics, electronics, mechanics, control systems, CAD, and CAM. I later specialized through hands-on work in backend engineering, cloud infrastructure, and production reliability.
